EffectExtentClass

Definition

Namespace
DOM.Styles
Assembly
DOM.dll

Specifies the extent of a visual effect (for example shadow, glow or blur) around an element.

Remarks

provides four directional extents that describe how far an effect should extend beyond an element's bounds. Values are expressed using, allowing absolute units (EMU/pt/cm/etc.) or relative percentages. Rendering and export logic should apply these extents when computing effect clipping, layout overflow and visual bounds. EffectExtent DocumentUnit Effect extents are used by and by exporters (HTML/PDF) to reserve the necessary space around a shape or image that carries a shadow, glow, or reflection. EffectExtent

Examples

csharp
1// 1. Symmetric shadow extent of 4pt on every side
2var extent = new EffectExtent
3{
4 Top = 4.0,
5 Bottom = 4.0,
6 Left = 4.0,
7 Right = 4.0
8};
9
csharp
1// 2. Extend only to the bottom-right (typical drop shadow)
2var extent = new EffectExtent
3{
4 Right = new DocumentUnit(6, Units.pt),
5 Bottom = new DocumentUnit(6, Units.pt)
6};
7
csharp
1// 3. Reflection: extend below only
2var extent = new EffectExtent
3{
4 Bottom = new DocumentUnit(20, Units.pt)
5};
6
csharp
1// 4. Attach to a graphic's transform
2var transform = new Transform
3{
4 Position = new Position(0, 0, Units.pt),
5 Dimensions = new Dimensions(200, 100, Units.pt),
6 EffectExtent = new EffectExtent
7 {
8 Top = 3, Bottom = 3, Left = 3, Right = 3
9 }
10};
11
csharp
1// 5. Reserve asymmetric space for a glow on the left side
2var extent = new EffectExtent
3{
4 Left = new DocumentUnit(0.1, Units.inch)
5};
